Competitor Analysis - Assess the financial and business strength and tactics of your competitors. Our reports can be updated as and when you require so you stay up-to-date with changes and developments.

Market Research - Our reports are also a valuable source of market information, letting you see the connections and cross-references between companies.

What will you get?

All our Credit Reports are carefully researched and can be provided in both PDF and HTML format.

Our most comprehensive and popular credit report is the StatusCheck report, which typically incorporates the following:

StatusCheck Report

Corporate Details - Contact details, legal style, formation date, share capital, shareholders, management/directors, affiliated companies and bankers.

Operations/History - The company background is outlined, bringing it completely up-to-date. We discuss its current operations and provide more detailed information about the shareholders and key related companies. If writing on a ship owner, the number/type/age of vessels will be examined and whether there are any new buildings on order. We also look at trading patterns and typical commodities carried.

Financial Summary - If accounts are available, we tabulate and analyse them. If no accounts are available, given the offshore nature of the marine industry in particular, we interpret the likely financial strength and performance of the company.

Payments Performance - Key to any assessment will be how a company performs in the context of current market conditions. We speak to suppliers and other business partners on a completely confidential basis to find out their experiences with the subject companies.

Appraisal/Rating - We appraise the business, giving the reader guidance regarding whether to deal on open credit terms or otherwise. Our unique five-part Lloyd's List Intelligence rating reflects the perceived risk of dealing with a company and provides credit guidance levels.

Fleetlist - If available, a fleetlist is supplied, showing the vessel name, IMO number, type, year of build and deadweight tonnage.

Availability - Lloyd's List Intelligence Credit Reports are available online, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can order an update to any online report (supplied within 24 hours, 1 week or 2 weeks). If a report is not listed online, you can commission a new Credit Report.

CharterCheck Report

The CharterCheck report aims to reveal the financial position and payments performance of a potential charterer. Specifically we seek out feedback from owners regarding previous fixtures and look out for any history of disputes. CharterCheck tries to ensure that you are fixing your vessel with a bona fide entity, thus reducing the possibility of fraud.

The CharterCheck report is not only written for ship owners; they are also written for charterers requiring information on an owner, in particular to find out if there is the potential for detentions or arrest. By presenting the experience of past charterers, CharterCheck reports can sometimes indicate physical problems with the vessel. CharterCheck reports also allow you to be certain you're entrusting your cargo to a genuine entity.
